AYATOLLAH PERRY: STURCH!

Somewhere, Alexander Hamilton is crying:
Advocates for the separation of church and state are protesting Texas Gov. Rick Perry’s plans to hold a bill-signing ceremony at a conservative evangelical church. One bill restricts abortion; a second calls for a ban on same-sex marriage.

The event is scheduled for today at a Christian school run by Calvary Cathedral International, one of the largest churches in Fort Worth. National leaders of the religious conservative movement, including Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council, are scheduled to attend.
After completing the bill-signing rite ceremony, Governor Perry intends to assemble a squad of Texas state troopers and take over the Iranian Consulate. God loves irony. And apparently he hates queers, too.

Of course, if you've been paying attention to the Texas GOP, all of this should come as no surprise.
